Lord Carter Leaving the Government, Says The Times

The Times newspaper has just reported that Lord Carter intends on leaving the government in order to join the private sector. The paper has insinuated that he may move to Brussels or land a job as the head of ITV. Lord Carter is known as the man behind the Digital Britain project. He is the Communications Minister and is responsible for promoting the UK’s communication and technology infrastructure.

Many people have expressed apprehension due to the fact that the person who spearheaded the Digital Britain project might not be there to ensure its proper implementation. Since the matter has become contentious in the UK, many have suggested that they would prefer Lord Carter to handle the project he initiated.

Though The Times claims that Lord Carter may leave even before the Digital Britain report becomes public, he has categorically stated that he will stay in the government even after the report is out in the public domain. He denied any intention to leave the government and said, in an interview to the paper that his sole focus currently is the Digital Britain report. He said he is not looking to acquire another post any time soon.

Very soon, it will become clear as to what Lord Carter’s next step would be regarding the Digital Britain project, which intends to expand internet accessibility across the country and control the rampant problem of piracy.
